SaunaStats ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect basic profile information (such as name and email) via Google login, sauna session data (such as date, location, stats, and companions), and usage data (such as app interactions).
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to provide and improve the SaunaStats app, display your stats and leaderboard rankings, enable social features, maintain account functionality, and keep the service secure.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under the GDPR:
- performance of a contract, when we provide your account and app functionality;
- legitimate interests, when we improve, secure, and analyse the service;
- consent, where required, for cookies, analytics, or similar tracking technologies.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. Your data may be visible to other users if your profile is public, and to friends depending on your privacy settings. We may also use trusted service providers that process data on our behalf.
5. Data Storage
Your data is securely stored using third-party services, such as Google Firebase.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as long as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, your data will be deleted within a reasonable period, unless we need to retain certain information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you may have the right to access your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict processing, object to certain processing, and request a portable copy of your data. You can also delete your account from the app settings.
8. International Processing and Service Providers
We may use service providers that process data outside the European Economic Area, including Google services such as Firebase and Analytics. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Cookies & Tracking
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data such as page views and interactions. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve the service. Google Analytics may store cookies in your browser. Where required, this is based on your consent. You can manage cookies through your browser settings or Google's opt-out tools.
10. Complaints
If you believe your data has been processed unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are in Estonia, you can contact the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) at aki.ee.
